The Little Festival, July 2015

The Little Festival, Southern India, Chennai, July 2015 with Children Group and the combination of puppet and mask technique. ASSITEJ Asia Meeting was also held alongside the festival and Simorgh Group attended in this meeting as Iran representative.

In this workshop that was held in the one of the international schools of Chennai, Mr. Boroumand instructed the construction of glove puppets and Papier-mâché masks to this school students.

Simorgh Theater Group Sets Forth India

Simorgh Theater Group sets forth India.

"The Last Leaf" theater directed by Mohammad Boroumand sets forth India to participate in The Little Festival, Chennai, India.

The sixth edition of Chennai International Festival is held entitled the promotion of peace, understanding and empathy through dramatic arts this year. Simorgh theater group will depart Tehran to Chennai on July 2nd, 2015 to have three performances in this festival.

"The Last Leaf" by Simorgh International Group is a combination of theater and media and it is non-verbal. With a fantasy and fiction structure, it deals with the consequences of the quarrels, domestic fights and international wars.

This is humanity and nature that is destroyed in children quarrels and adults wars. There will no world to live if the last leaf falls down the earth. The audiences will accompany us in performing this play and they will try to reach "the peace and friendship for all" as well.

"The Last Leaf" theater was produced in 2014 with companionship of some actors/actresses from Iran, United States of America, Afghanistan and Canada and was staged in Tehran and war areas then it was performed in Sarajevo International Peace Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina that was welcomed by this country people and media.

"The Last Leaf" playwright and director: Mohammad Boroumand, composers: Mahdi Kianmanesh, Keivan Alaie and Yousef Nikpoor; puppet designing and construction: Monire Amiryousefi; producer: Mohammad Javdani Irandoost; Eghlima Assadi and Maryam Aboeerad are lightening and media operators.

Amirali Shariari, Roshaan Shariati, Mehrava Afshani, Mehrsa Javdani Irandoost, Rozhin Shariati, Parmis Fallah and Marzie Rashedi will perform "The Last Leaf" in Chennai festival. Maryam Khoshdel will accompany this group as International Relations Manager and Translator.
